Description:
In this early study for 'Bezalel's Vision', the keruvim (cherubs) on the Ark of the Covenant are seen in two positions; facing towards each other and away from each other as shadows. I wanted to illustrate a legend that attributes mystical properties to these figures by which they demonstrate the emotional and political condition of the Israelites. When all was harmonious, the figures faced each other; when discord arose, they faced away from each other.
